Ampd’s Google to Amazon Approach Increases Luna Bean's Sales During Valentine's Day Season

The  Backstory

Goja, the parent company of Luna Bean, wanted to increase traffic and sales for their hand plaster kit during the busy Valentine's day season. Luna Bean was looking to expand its brand's Amazon sales and organic presence on Amazon by leveraging Google Ads to Amazon as a new marketing channel. However, they needed a solution to gain visibility into Amazon Attribution to measure the effectiveness of their campaigns.

Challenges

Without proper Amazon Attribution tracking, it would have been difficult for Luna Bean to measure the effectiveness of their Google Ads to Amazon campaigns and show value to the brand. They needed a solution that would accurately connect Google Ads data with Amazon Sales data while automating Amazon Attribution tagging for brands.

Solution

Enter Ampd, whose proprietary technology was able to accurately connect Google Ads data with Amazon Sales data, all while automating Amazon Attribution tagging for brands. With Ampd's UI, Goja was able to gain visibility into which Google keywords/clicks were resulting in direct sales on Amazon and optimize those campaigns. This allowed the brand to focus on spending towards converting keywords that had 'Amazon' buying intent on Google, which were more likely to convert directly on Amazon. Working with Ampd, they could also target 'Non-Amazon' buying intent keywords on Google to build brand awareness directed towards Amazon, while monitoring spend and ACOS on those keywords in Ampd's dashboard. The Ampd PRO Service was able to optimize their Google Ads to Amazon and increase their results for their Cost, Average CPC, Conversions and Revenue.

The Results

The performance from the 30 day window is shown below:

  • Total Cost: $1,784
  • Average CPC: 0.62
  • True Cost: Cost - Brand Referral Bonus (BRB) = True Cost. This equates to ($1,784) - ($878) = $906 in true cost, after factoring in the BRB rebate from Amazon and subtracting that from the total cost.
  • Total Revenue: $8,598
  • Total Sales: 237
  • Total ‘Add To Carts’: 460
  • True AACOS: True Cost / Revenue = True AACOS. This equates to ($906) / ($8,598) = True AACOS 20%

Conclusion

Through their partnership with Ampd, Luna Bean was able to achieve impressive results in their efforts to increase sales and visibility on Amazon during their busy Valentine's day season. With a total cost of $1,784 and an average CPC of 0.62, they were able to generate a total revenue of $8,598 and achieve 237 total sales. Ampd's technology allowed them to accurately connect Google Ads data with Amazon Sales data, automate Amazon Attribution tagging, and gain valuable insights into the effectiveness of their campaigns. With the ability to optimize their campaigns based on this data, Luna Bean was able to target relevant keywords on Google and direct traffic to their Amazon listings, resulting in increased sales and revenue.
